Shaher Awartani: Building the Future of the UAE through Visionary Leadership in Abu Dhabi

About Shaher Awartani:

Shaher Moh’d Ali Awartani is a distinguished entrepreneur whose impact resonates across multiple sectors in the United Arab Emirates. As the Chairman and Co-Founder of Silver Coast Construction & Boring LLC, Shaher Awartani has played a pivotal role in shaping the architectural and infrastructural landscape of Abu Dhabi since 1997. Leading a workforce of up to 4,500 professionals, he has overseen the successful execution of over USD 1.35 billion in development projects.

Silver Coast Construction has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality, large-scale projects across the UAE. Mr. Awartani’s leadership emphasizes innovation, safety, and sustainability, helping position the firm as a trusted partner in the region’s growth.

Yet, construction is only one aspect of Shaher Awartani’s entrepreneurial reach. In 2017, he co-founded High Point Real Estate LLC in Dubai, alongside H.E Yousif Al Otaiba, H.E Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, and Mr. Ahmed Ismail Bashee. The company owns two high-end residential assets valued at USD 100 million, underscoring his strategic understanding of real estate investment and development in one of the world’s fastest-growing cities.

Expanding his influence in finance, Shaher Awartani co-founded Equalis Capital Ltd. in 2013. Based in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Equalis Capital is a proprietary investment firm with a focus on high-value opportunities. Its launch was a testament to Mr. Awartani’s ability to identify and develop sophisticated financial ventures, always in collaboration with prominent partners like H.E Yousif Al Otaiba.

In 2015, Shaher Awartani further diversified his business portfolio by joining the board of directors at Global Gate Capital Partners in Geneva. The firm manages over USD 2 billion in assets, specializing in private equity and real estate. His involvement signals his growing international influence and financial foresight.

In 2017, he stepped into the hospitality world by co-founding Café Milano Abu Dhabi, in partnership with Mubadala and H.E Yousef Al Otaiba. Located in the Four Seasons Hotel, this is the only international branch of the legendary Washington D.C. restaurant. The café quickly became a symbol of refined dining and elegance in the capital.

Shaher Awartani’s commitment to the wellbeing of the community became further evident in 2020 when he and his partners became substantial shareholders in Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi. This healthcare initiative, backed by InvestCorp and Mubadala, reflects his ongoing mission to improve lives through strategic investment.

In 2024, Shaher Awartani co-founded Yasa Capital (DIFC) Limited—an investment and advisory firm regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority—further extending his presence in the financial landscape of the Gulf.

His philanthropic values are reflected through a private scholarship program launched in 2015 and ongoing contributions to medical institutions such as the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C.
