A note from Jim Stonebraker, webmaster and participant of the Stockhausen Courses Kürten 2008:
"The Stockhausen Courses Kürten 2009 are not only aimed at composers, performers, musicologists and technicians.
Any lover of Stockhausens music is cordially invited to observe the rehearsals, master classes, lectures and concerts.
All instruction and dialogue is in English. The atmosphere and dress code is relaxed and informal.
You will also enjoy a great deal of friendship and camaraderie among the participants.
Come and join us in Kürten this summer for the musical experience of a lifetime!"

Overview of the Stockhausen Composition and Interpretation Courses
Kürten and the Stockhausen Courses: an Introduction (of sorts) -- DAC Crowell
Kuerten is a small community about 30 kilometres (19 miles) east of Cologne in the part of Germany called Bergisches Land. Stockhausen has lived there since 1965. For the tenth time, the community of Kuerten is allowing the Stockhausen Foundation for Music to use its school complex and community centre for the continuation of its annual international composition and interpretation courses. Composers, interpreters, musicologists and music lovers world-wide are warmly invited to participate in the tenth Stockhausen Courses.
