Introduction to the 10 scenes of FRIDAY
The opera FRIDAY from LIGHT has been released on the four compact discs 50 A-D electronic music with sound scenes and real scenes.
In performances, as the electronic music with sound scenes is projected over 12 loudspeakers, the soprano, bass, baritone, flute, basset-horn, childrens orchestra and childrens choir with synthesizer, and mixed choir sing and play on the stage.
In quasi concert performances, it is possible to play back recordings (Stockhausen-Verlag) of the four childrens scenes and the CHOIR SPIRAL.
The present compact discs 65 AB comprise the recordings of the 10 real scenes, each with fade-in and fade-out. The individual scenes may be performed by themselves. These individual recordings can be used for study purposes, as models for interpreters, for radio broadcasts and for school instruction.
Each of these scenes has been published separately, with numerous colour photographs of the world première in 1996 at the Leipzig Opera (1996).
To practise the real scenes, it is possible to order various tapes and cassettes or CDs for all interpreters from the publisher.
For the childrens orchestra, either performance parts from an earlier production may be used, or a different material may be made by the director of a new production, according to the instruments available.
In any case, the soprano should conduct the CHILDRENS ORCHESTRA and CHILDRENS TUTTI, and the bass conducts the CHILDRENS CHOIR.
The opera as a whole is published as FRIDAY TEMPTATION, Acts I and II.
All texts of FRIDAY have been published in a text score entitled TEXTS of FRIDAY from LIGHT. A collection of colour photographs of the staging, suitable for framing (printed on loose leaf glossy paper on one side only), may be ordered from the publisher.
